Things to know if you plan to come to Hungary

From Tuesday midnight, the new regulations regarding how Hungarian and foreign citizens can travel to Hungary came into force. Hungarian authorities define the colour of the different countries based on their coronavirus risk factor, so it is very important from where somebody comes.
According to Index, from Hungary, people can travel to Croatia, Slovenia, and the green western and northern members of the European Union without restrictions. Nobody asks them for a test, and if they do not have any symptoms related to COVID-19, they do not have to go into quarantine.
Hungarian citizens can return from any part of the world, but if they come from yellow or red countries, they have to go into quarantine for 14 days.
There are exceptions
which local police departments can decide on and issue the required documents. For example, in the case of the Budapest airport, it is up to the police department of District 18. The list is quite long in this respect; for example, students, employees, those who come to Hungary to take part in family events (funeral, baptism, wedding), sports, cultural, or religious events may be exempt from compulsory quarantine. Furthermore, those who live near the border can also come to work in agriculture for one day.
What are the rules for those whose original departure was from a yellow country where they live but they arrive at Hungary borders by train or car from time spent immediately before in a green country. And how do they prove they have come from a green country?
Also for residenta in Hungary with a residency of more than 90 days. They go to a green country for a visit, what proof is needed to return to Hungary. Train tickets, hotel accommodation ?
Hello..I am a Canadian Journalist living on the Isle Of Man(UK)..today’s article regarding entry into Hungary is Nonsense!! You have Canada in the Red Zone and the US in the yellow!! I come from Western Canada..British Columbia ..population 5.1 million..we have had 196 deaths !! Canada wide in 38 million population we have had 8600 deaths! Now compare that to the US !!! What the hell is wrong with you??? I am planning to trip to Hungary and you would allow A Yank in but not ME!! Please don’t mix us up with those IDIOTS south of our border.
