Amazing! Ticket sales for the direct Budapest-US flights start very soon
Ticket sales for a direct flight between Hungary and the United States, to launch in May 2026, will start on Monday, the chief corporate communications and government relations officer at Liszt Ferenc International operator Budapest Airport said on public television on Friday.
Katalin ValentÃnyi noted that the Budapest-Philadelphia flight would relaunch after a seven-year hiatus. American Airlines will use a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, with 234 seats, for the flight to operate every day of the week, writes Piac&Profit.
Valentinyi said the announcement of the flight on Thursday had been preceded by more than a year of preparations. Olivér Csendes, the CEO of Visit Hungary, said the airport in Philadelphia offered travellers connections to more than 100 other destinations across the United States.
The flight will operate from May 21 until October 5 in the 2026 season, “but we will show them that it’s worth flying to Hungary for the whole year”, he added. In 2024, 389,000 American tourists visited Budapest, up 20 percent.
