Hungarian opposition Tisza Party rejects allowing illegal migrants to enter EU

The opposition Tisza Party “rejects the entry of illegal migrants into European Union territory”, party leader Péter Magyar said on Facebook on Wednesday.

Tisza rejects illegal migrants

“Illegal entry is not a fundamental right; each state has the right and the obligation to protect its borders,” Magyar said in his entry, adding that “protecting the external borders of the Schengen zone is a key responsibility.” Tisza supports maintaining the border fence in southern Hungary and “finds it necessary that the European Commission should contribute to the cost of its construction,” Magyar said.

“At the same time, we find it important that the Hungarian parliament, similarly to other member states, should address border protection through regulations harmonised with EU law,” Tisza said. “Should the Orbán government be unable or unwilling to do so, it will have to take responsibility for the ensuing EU fine in the range of hundreds of billions,” Magyar said.

  1. New poll shows Fidesz support deflating and Tisza rising with the gap now only 4%. It was about 15% during the EP election in June. The momentum Tisza has in absolutely phenomenal since Magyar came on the stage in February. Pedofidesz politicians are now in complete fear. Their propaganda, their lies, their corruption is all pulling them down. Fewer and fewer Hungarians trust or believe what Orban and his cronies say. Change is coming in 2026 but it seems so far away.

  2. Dear maria, i haven’t seen your enlightened comments in the new pedo scandal. Wondering if you reject pedo fidesz decisions,…. Or just what you think is ok…

  3. Sure, they say no to migration because they know saying anything else, or nothing, would be political suicide. However, does Magyar have the cojones to actually stand up to the E.U., to Soros, to W.E.F., and all the rest of them? As if! Most of his funding is coming from them!

  4. Steiner, you accuse Tisza of taking funding from certain sources without any evidence whatsoever. The reality is that Tisza is a grassroots party enthusiastically supported by a tranche of Hungarian society keen to see their country change for the better and Tisza is their only hope. Many people that have never donated to a political cause in their life have donated to Tisza or are considering doing so. They are a socially conservative party and there is clear ground between them and traditional western liberal parties. I wish them well.
