Budapest downtown to be closed to traffic again this weekend – VIDEO

The reason is filmmaking involving some Hollywood stars, just like last weekend, and the areas concerned are the same: the Chain Bridge and a section of the Pest Lower Embankment.

According to turizmus.com, authorities will close the Chain Bridge and the Pest Lower Embankment between Eötvös Street and Jászai Mari Square again from Friday midnight until Monday 4 AM. Apart from car traffic, even public transport will change, affecting the schedules of multiple buses.
As we wrote earlier, Hollywood superstars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry and Emilia Clarke are in Budapest. Later, the Hungarian media wrote that Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry were working on their new film on the top of Hungary and Budapest’s symbol, the Chain Bridge, last Sunday, shooting one of the key scenes of the movie in front of Buda Castle.

Here is a video shared by Bors, a Hungarian tabloid, which also presented some photos in its article about the film shoot:

Traffic changes in Budapest downtown again
Due to the filmmaking, buses nr 16, 105, 178, 210B and 216 will commute on a modified route through the Elizabeth Bridge. Consequently, the vehicles will not stop at the Széchenyi István Square and József Nádor Square bus stops while commuting from Buda to Pest.
Moreover, night buses 916 and 990 will carry passengers via the Elizabeth Bridge and will not stop at the Deák Ferenc Square, the Hild Square and the Széchenyi István Square. Temporarily, they will stop at the Várkert Bazár tram replacement bus stop and between the Döbrentei Square and the Ferenciek Square, at the stops of bus nr 5.
