Attention! Wizz Air cancelled and modified at least 20 popular flights from Budapest

Utazómajom, a Hungarian travel news-focused media outlet, collected at least 20 flights, which Wizz Air, Hungary’s low-cost airline, cancelled or modified significantly in secret. Wizz Air never communicates or explains flight cancellations or frequency reductions, those things just happen. The Hungarian low-cost carrier likes to share only the good news: the launch of new flights, the increase in flight frequency or development service.
According to Utazómajom, Wizz Air employees have been working hard in the last few weeks since they modified or cancelled dozens of flights. Therefore, passengers should pay attention, especially if they travel with transfers or did not book their ticket directly by Wizz Air.
LIST: Wizz Air cancels and modifies multiple flights

What if your flight is cancelled, modified, or delayed?
Wizz Air offers four options for passengers in case of cancellation or significant timetable change:
- They may accept an alternative;
- Rebooking to a similar or similar-route Wizz Air flight within 14 days before or 30 days after the original departure date;
- You may get back the ticket cost in Wizz Air points;
- You may cancel your reservation and claim a refund in the original payment mode.
You are also entitled to EUR 250-600 as a refund if Wizz Air cancels your flight less than 2 weeks before it is due or you arrive at your destination with at least a 3-hour delay.

Unfavourable 2024 Q3 numbers
If you do not want to deal with questions of refund, some companies collect that fee for you for a commission charge. One of them is kesettagepem.hu, which offers a 5% discount if you claim that you heard about them from Utazómajom.
Portfólió wrote about Wizz Air’s 2024 Q3 numbers and that the Hungarian low-cost airline reported a EUR 238 million loss, a higher sum than Conorde (206M) or Bloomberg (138M) calculated. Concorde still offers Wizz Air shares to buy.
