‘Transatlantic summit’ under way in Budapest
A two-day “transatlantic summit” organised by the Political Network for Values is being held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest.
Miklós Szánthó, head of the Centre for Fundamental Rights, on Friday addressed the second day of the English-language Transatlantic Summit, which is being held for the fourth time. “Liberals seek to appropriate freedom infused by their own ideology, but this effort is in vain,” he said, adding that the definition of concepts such as freedom, democracy and the rule of law was “not neutral in this day and age”.
