Türkiye’s EU membership in Hungary’s interest, says the Orbán cabinet
Hungary has a vested interest in the enlargement of the European Union, especially in Türkiye’s EU membership, Speaker of Parliament László Kövér said after receiving his Turkish counterpart in parliament on Monday.
Kövér said in a statement after talks with Numan Kurtulmus, speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, that the EU may need Turkiye even more than Türkiye needed EU membership, in terms of energy security, illegal migration or regional security issues.

He said that both Hungary and Türkiye had a vested interest in a multipolar, peaceful world system based on trade, rather than a division of the world into blocs. He added that in this regard, Türkiye’s role in the Middle Corridor connecting Asia and Europe was decisive and irreplaceable.

Kövér praised the intensity of economic relations between the two countries, saying that the Hungarian government’s goal was to achieve 6 billion dollars in trade turnover. He added that according to forecasts there was a realistic chance of reaching 5 billion dollars by the end of the year. He welcomed Turkish investments in Hungary and Hungarian capital investments in Türkiye, highlighting defense industry cooperation which he said would contribute to the revival of the Hungarian military industry.

Kurtulmus said Hungarian-Turkish relations were exemplary, adding that the two countries had strong ties in all areas and were constantly developing their cooperation in areas including energy, the defense industry, education and culture.
He recalled that an informal meeting of the Organization of Turkic States had been held in Budapest this year and thanked Hungary for supporting Turkiye’s EU membership during its EU Presidency.

Kövér and Kurtulmus also signed a cooperation agreement on supporting bilateral ties, on exchanging parliamentary experiences and on supporting Türkiye’s EU accession.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met Kurtulmus in his office in Budapest, the Prime Minister’s Communications Office said on Monday.

Orban wants to fill the EU with corrupt dictators who are like himself- Erdogan, Vucic. Erdogan has been jailing opposition leaders in Turkey. Yeah, no problem. He will pass the rule of law criteria for the EU. Fidesz politicians exist in some kind of alternate universe.

His beloved E.U. and some its members, all oh-so devoted guardians of the “rule of law,” have been arresting, prosecuting, fining, and jailing opposition politicians, contemplating banning legitimate political parties, and overturning election results.

Not sure what a “Türkiye” is, as it uses non-English symbols, but I fully support the accession of Turkey into the E.U. Few things will hasten the latter’s demise like admitting a giant Moslem country with a chaotic economy and a divided population with simmering hostilities toward each other.
Orban is a genius!
Fidesz rails about allowing Muslims into the EU but now Orban wants to bring 84 million of them in. EIGHTY-FOUR MILLION. What happend to Christian culture? What happened to all the horrible things Muslims will bring into the EU according to Orban? Turkey hosts 3.2 million Syrian refugees and another 220,000 refugees of other nationalities. Now Orban wants to bring these 3.4 million refugees inside the EU? Fidesz is the biggest crock of shit out there. They contradict everything they say while they pick your pockets.
