Ukraine’s intelligence chief: Russia would have already lost the war if not for its allies

If Moscow had not received help from its allies, Russia would have long since lost the war against Ukraine – said Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (HUR), during an international military forum.

North Korea keeps Russia’s imperialistic hopes alive?

According to the general, North Korea’s support has played a decisive role in allowing the Kremlin to continue its military campaign, writes Portfolio.

Budanov stressed that if Moscow could not rely on foreign partners, Ukraine, with the assistance of its Western allies, would have already regained all occupied territories.

“Russia would have lost this war long ago if it were not for the support it receives from its allies – above all from North Korea,” the intelligence chief declared.

Other countries just let their people join the Russian army

He also noted that Moscow is being helped not only by North Korean arms and ammunition supplies but also by the “dishonest behaviour” of certain countries that, while not openly backing Russia, turn a blind eye to their citizens joining the Russian army or to violations of international sanctions, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

According to Budanov, some states continue to allow Russia access to weapons, ammunition, and vital technological components in defiance of global restrictions – actions that prolong the conflict.

Apparently not only Ukraine received huge support throughout the war

He added that the Kremlin had not anticipated such a protracted war and was surprised by the strength and unity of Western support for Ukraine.

“Moscow is now desperately seeking a pause in order to restore its military capabilities,” Budanov said, expressing his gratitude to Ukraine’s international partners for their ongoing assistance.

As Karpat.in.ua states, the meeting, attended by foreign military and diplomatic representatives, also focused on possible countermeasures against Russian aggression. Participants paid tribute to the intelligence officers who lost their lives in the war by laying flowers at a memorial in their honour.

Budanov further warned that Russia is likely to intensify its hybrid warfare tactics against both the European Union and NATO member states, stressing that sustained international cooperation remains essential.
