US ambassador on 9/11 anniversary: Fight against terrorism unrelenting
Budapest (MTI) – Colleen Bell, the US ambassador to Hungary, addressing a commemoration held ahead of the anniversary of 9/11, pledged on Friday unrelenting commitment to preventing terrorist acts that claim the lives of innocent people in the world.
Addressing an event at the Central Museum for Disaster Management in Budapest, Bell spoke of the necessity of remembering the heroes of the September 11 terrorist attack who gave their lives to helping fellow citizens. She thanked the officers of Hungary’s Disaster Management Services for taking part in the remembrances, which, she said, showed that they, too, are bound by their commitment and sense of duty to serve and help others.
Laszlo Tasnadi, state secretary at the Interior Ministry, said a promise must be made to prevent such an attack from happening ever again. Hungarian security forces are doing everything possible to this end in cooperation with other security services, he said.
