US-Hungary Business Council delegation in Budapest for business mission
Budapest, June 23 (MTI) – A delegation of the non-profit US-Hungary Business Council, met Economy Minister Mihály Varga in Budapest on the second day of its first business mission organised in Hungary. Varga greeted USHBC head Eric Stewart in his office and said that the Hungarian government’s investor-friendly policies offer good opportunities for US firms. The two sides agreed that ties between their countries have become stronger over the past few years.
“During the mission, participants will seek to promote and discover opportunities to increase their commercial cooperation with the Hungarian government and private sector,” the USHBC said in a statement.
The companies Bell Helicopter Textron, BorgWarner, Coca-Cola Company, Guardian Industries, Hungrana, Lilly, MetLife and Owens-Illinois are participating in the delegation.
Members of the delegation will have meetings at ministries across the government and hold talks with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
US-owned companies employ more than 90,000 people in Hungary, Varga told the delegation.
