Városliget in Colours
Budapest City Park (Városliget) changes colours, and it is not only due to the falling autumn leaves. ColorfulLiget – Let’s Colour Budapest City Park! contest challenged young artists to create artworks that represent the connection of green spots and culture.
The project was announced in July, and the of the project has just been realised, with the help of some plain concrete walls, by talented young city dwellers.
Zoltan Popráczy’s work ’Daxliget’ received the first prize in the contest where the applicants were judged based on their realisation plans. Dorina Szombati’s visualisation of life stills got the second prize and Gábor Berettyán’s ’Budapest’ shared the third step of the imaginary podium with Eszter Török’s moss-haired group.
Liget Budapest Projekt (City Park Budapest Project), the organisation responsible for the renewal of Budapest City Park has started many activities under the scope of ’Miligetünk’(Our City Park) programme series, where organisers involve users of the city sites, enabling them to be the part of the changes of their city.
