Artist accident in Hungary
SzebasztiĂ¡n Richter, press officer of the Richter FlĂ³riĂ¡n Circus, said that there was an accident during the performance on Saturday in HĂ³dmezÅ‘vĂ¡sĂ¡rhely, Hungary.
The 25-year-old El Salvadorian performer Raul Alexander was doing the wheel of death stunt when the accident happened.
Miraculous outcome
According to rtl.hu, Alexander had an accident at the highest point of the ring of death, 8 metres above the ground. The artist had wrongly braced his hands and feet inside the ring, which caused him to slip and fall out of the death wheel.
Raul Alexander lost consciousness for a minute after the fall and was unable to breathe as the force of the fall drove him into the ground. Days later, the artist was still hurting his shoulder, leg and ribs, but he escaped the violent accident without serious injury.
Since the incident, however, he has been suffering from severe fear and a sense of danger, but this has not deterred him from his career. He plans to return to the dangerous stunt slowly, gradually, with lots of training.
