Visitor Centre Opens At Pannonhalma Archabbey

Budapest, July 10 (MTI) – Janos Lazar, head of the Prime Minister’s Office, attended the inauguration of a new visitor centre to the Archabbey of Pannonhalma in western Hungary today.

pannonhalma-4In his address to the ceremony, Lazar spoke highly of the role of the largest churches in building communities, and pledged further government assistance to those efforts from a total 7,000 billion forints in European Union funding allocated to Hungary in the next seven-year financial period. The government will work to reduce the administrative cost of development projects from the maximum 3 percent to 0.9 percent and use the balance for the purpose, Lazar said.

The visitor centre consists of an exhibition hall, museum, areas for community purposes and a cafe, set up in a renovated old annex to the Abbey.
