Warning: Budapest traffic restrictions for 15 March national holiday
The Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) has announced significant traffic restrictions across parts of the capital due to events and rallies scheduled for 15 March. The restrictions will affect multiple districts of Budapest until Saturday.
The restrictions
The Budapest Police Headquarters has outlined several road closures and traffic restrictions in Budapest for specific dates and times:
- On Wednesday from 3 a.m., the outer lane of MĂºzeum Boulevard will be closed in the direction of KĂ¡lvin Square between BrĂ³dy SĂ¡ndor Street and KĂ¡lvin Square and the direction of Astoria between BrĂ³dy SĂ¡ndor Street and 2 MĂºzeum Boulevard.
- From Thursday at midnight to Friday midnight, Pollack MihĂ¡ly Square will be closed.
- On Friday from 3 a.m. to 4 p.m., several streets will be closed including BrĂ³dy SĂ¡ndor Street between Pollack MihĂ¡ly Square and MĂºzeum Boulevard, MĂºzeum Street between SzentkirĂ¡lyi Street and MĂºzeum Boulevard, ĂœllÅ‘i Street between SzabĂ³ Ervin Square and KĂ¡lvin Square, MĂºzeum Boulevard between LĂ³nyay Street and Astoria and KecskemĂ©ti Street between Magyar Street and KĂ¡lvin Square.
- On Friday, from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday ErzsĂ©bet Bridge, Szabad SajtĂ³ Street and Kossuth Lajos Street will be closed. Additionally, RĂ¡kĂ³czi Street between Astoria and Blaha Lujza Square will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. AndrĂ¡ssy Street between Bajcsy-Zilinszky Street and Oktogon from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and SzabadsĂ¡g Bridge from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. will also be closed on Friday.
On the national holiday, parking will be prohibited on the following streets: BrĂ³dy SĂ¡ndor Street, Pushkin Street, SzentkirĂ¡lyi Street, Trefort Street, Baross Street and ĂœllÅ‘i Street. Additionally, on Friday, temporary parking restrictions will be in place on ApĂ¡czai Csere JĂ¡nos Street, DeĂ¡k Ferenc Street, Balassi BĂ¡lint Street and Falk Miksa Street – as announced by the Budapest Police Headquarters.
Furthermore, the Budapest Police Headquarters urges drivers to exercise heightened caution in compliance with the revised traffic regulations mentioned above.
