Lajos Bátori, a 106-year-old Hungarian man actively skies even today, and he enjoys every moment of it. He also revealed the three secrets of long life, Origo.hu told.

There is a spot next to Hotel Crystal Mountain in Michigan where even the manager of the hotel is not allowed to park. It is only Lou Bátori, who can park his car there. The old man, at the age of 100 years, was entitled to use a free parking place.

The locals and the staff are fond of the old man, but his story is spreading in the whole world, too: at the age of 106, he is still actively doing sport. One nice February day he decided to put on his skis and in a yellow ski dress, seeming brand new, he set off the hill.

“Everyone loves Lou”, says Brian Lawson PR manager of Crystal Mountain, who believes that the old man’s performance is really inspiring. “Being active at his age is fantastic indeed. Those who know him love him really much, because he is pleasant company, and we are glad having him among us”, he added. At the age of 10, he climbed the first mountain in Transylvania, and when he was 16, he started skiing.

Origo.hu writes that Mr. Bátori moved to the United States in 1929 where he had been working at a research institute for 15 years. In 1944, his father fled to the US from Hungary because of the war and got his son to launch a company together. They were producing aids for counting made of paper, but when the first calculators appeared in the middle of the 60s, Lou decided to work as an engineer again.

He has always been nuts about skiing. He has won several amateur Nastar racings, and after attaining the age of 100, he has been still active. What is more, Origo.hu notes, some years before, he even entered for the race in “+100 category”. He has skied downhill next to the hotel, returned to the holiday resorts and drunk his Martini, as usual.

Origo.hu notes that some years before CBS made an interview with the old man. According to him, to live long, you need a good wife, high-quality alcohol, and you have to choose your parents carefully. Unfortunately, last August he lost his wife with whom they lived a very active life. They often rode their sidecar motorcycle and went hiking regularly. Six years before Lou told that he had covered 17 miles on bicycle each day and had put on the ski three times a week.

I try to make my best to stay fit, because there is no point in sitting in the arm-chair waiting for my eyes to close forever. Never wait for the perfect moment, because in that case, you stupidly waste your whole life. You can change anything: your shoes, your house, all your property. But the time dawdled away will never come back. Make the most of it,

the old man told.
