Video: Wizz Air plane crashes on runway in Prague

A Wizz Air flight from London to Prague narrowly avoided disaster when it struck the runway during landing at Václav Havel Airport. The Airbus’ fuselage was damaged, but fortunately, all passengers emerged unscathed.
According to the Czech TN.cz portal, the incident occurred on a scheduled service. Jiri Hannich, spokesperson for the Prague airport, confirmed that the aircraft safely reached the parking area despite the landing complications, and none of the passengers were injured.
Not the first risky landing in Prague
This marks the second dangerous landing at Václav Havel Airport in just a few months: the previous plane involved was a six-month-old Wizz Air Airbus A321XLR. During the landing, the tail of the aircraft made contact with the runway, causing part of the fuselage to scrape against the tarmac. Following the initial impact, the plane rebounded and made a second touch, further damaging the rear section of the aircraft.
Return flight to London cancelled
This time, the airport carried out a thorough runway inspection after the incident and found no defects. Airport operations continued without disruption, although the return flight to London was cancelled due to the aircraft’s uncertain technical condition.

The video of the dramatic landing has circulated online, capturing the tense moments as passengers experienced a frightening touchdown. While the incident did not affect overall airport operations, aviation experts note that repeated runway incidents in such a short period warrant careful review of landing procedures and aircraft maintenance.

Very little to no flair prior to touch down. This is becoming an issue everywhere…
