BREAKING: 28 flights cancelled at Budapest Airport

The escalating conflict in the Middle East continues to directly impact air traffic in Hungary, with 28 flights cancelled on Sunday at Budapest Airport, the operator of Liszt Ferenc International Airport.
More cancelled flights at Budapest Airport
According to an official statement sent to the Hungarian News Agency (MTI) and posted on Facebook, both departing and arriving services have been affected, particularly on routes connecting Budapest with major Middle Eastern hubs.
Flights to and from Tel Aviv, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Amman were among those cancelled.
Situation remains fluid throughout the day
Airport authorities warned that the situation is highly dynamic, with flight statuses potentially changing several times within the same day.
“The status of flights may change continuously during the day,” the operator said, stressing that further delays or cancellations cannot be ruled out as the regional security situation develops.
The disruption reflects wider instability in Middle Eastern airspace, where airlines are increasingly adjusting schedules, rerouting aircraft or suspending services for safety reasons.
Passengers urged to check before travelling
Travellers are being strongly advised not to rely solely on previously issued tickets or schedules. Instead, passengers should check directly with their airlines before heading to the airport.
Budapest Airport also recommended monitoring official flight information channels and, where necessary, contacting consular services for the latest travel guidance.
With several popular tourist and business destinations affected, the cancellations may cause inconvenience for holidaymakers, expatriates and business travellers alike. Authorities say flexibility and up-to-date information will be essential until the situation stabilises.
Further updates are expected as airlines reassess their operations in the region.
