4 of the best glamping sites in Hungary
While camping and tenting is fun, the bugs, the morning heat and the uneven ground where you lay your head to sleep can make it difficult to enjoy sleeping under the night sky. This is exactly why glamping became popular lately, and thanks to vous.hu, now you can find the best glamping sites in Hungary.
Glamping means glamorous camping, and while it is much comfortable than traditional camping, you’re still very close to nature, which is the main point of camping. There are several options for glamping, you can sleep in tree houses, yurts, safari tents, tipis, trailers, tent cabins, lighthouses, cave hotels, bell tents or eco-hotels.
Glamping in Hungary
Őrségi 5érzék Házak – 5 Senses Guesthouses, Őrség
The name speaks for itself: at the 5 Senses Guesthouses, all five of your senses will be taken on a sensual and spiritual journey, and you will return home with a bunch of happy memories, thanks to the peaceful twittering of the birds. Aside from the apartment glamping, you can choose to try the nomad glamping, which means that you can sleep in a 30 square metre tent in comfy beds, but there is no electricity in there, and the closest toilet is 30 metres away. You should definitely try the eco carriage and the floating tent if you’re there!
Homoki Lodge
The Homoki Lodge is in Ruzsa, Csongrád county, where you can choose from a range of varieties of accommodations, all in traditional Hungarian style. You can try out the ancient Hungarian-style, three-tiered yurts, the roof of which can be opened, so if you want to, you can sleep under the stars – literally! If you want something more ‘modern’, you can rent rooms in the boutique hotel, which was once a traditional, thatched-roofed farmhouse. There is also a residence, which has its own garden, and lastly, a thatched adobe suite.
Mókus Valley
If you happen to be hiking in the Mecsek and are looking for a comfy place to spend a night or two, then the Mókus Valley is perfect for you. There are three cosy cottages here, and some special items like a renovated gipsy carriage and a modified Csepellina (an old Hungarian truck). The owners, Mandy and Paul, guarantee you that you will be connected to nature and wildlife in an amazing way.
Nomád Hotel & Glamping
Even though several glamping sites operate yurts, in Hungary, only Noszvaj offers the option of sleeping in a safari tent. They have two tents, both decorated in different styles. The “Far from Africa” tent has a private terrace over the stream’s valley and is perfect for the romantic souls who just want to get away from the world. The Commander’s tent got bigger and comfier as years passed, but the singing of the birds and the calm atmosphere stays the same as always. (Website only in Hungarian)
