The Hungarian capital has many fascinating sights and activities to offer. Baths, restaurants, cafes, beautiful squares and stunning buildings await tourists. No wonder the city also attracts many big names. In our article, we show you some places the superstars like to frequent when they visit Budapest.

Hilton Budapest

The Hilton hotel chain is known worldwide for its top-tier services. Their five-star hotel in Budapest oozes a unique grandeur with a panoramic view of the Danube. Many celebrities who come for a visit or performance choose it as an accommodation, writes danubiushotels.

Guns’N Roses, Owen Wilson, Nicolas Cage, Pelé, Madonna and Arnold Schwarzenegger have also stayed here.

Danubius Hotel Gellért

The Secession style building has been home to many stars and film productions throughout its history.

The more than 100-year-old hotel also housed Jennifer Lawrence, Eddie Murhpy, Anthony Perkins and James Belushi.

This is where the 1981 Mephisto was shot, which even won an Oscar. In 2001, Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson stayed here when shooting I spy.

Rosenstein restaurant

With a little exaggeration, foreign stars pass each other the seats in the Rosenstein restaurant. The last time Rosenstein was packed with starts was when, Poor Things, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, was filmed in Hungary.

Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo have also dined a wined in a separate room of the restaurant.

The son of the restaurant’s owner said that the actors enjoyed themselves and would definitely come back, writes hellomagyar.hu.

Prime Steak & Wine restaurant

Mel Gibson has visited the Hungarian capital several times. He mostly goes to Budapest to direct films. However, when he is there, he likes to explore the city. In the autumn of 2021, Prime Steak & Wine welcomed the superstar for dinner. After the meal, the staff took the opportunity and asked for a picture with Gibson, who celebrated his 65th birthday last year.
