When it comes to winter, there is no better activity than going ice skating with your loved ones. Here are some cozy ice skating spots you should try out this holiday season!
Budapest Park
In view of last year’s great success, the Ice World (Jégvilág), born from the cooperation of Budapest Park and Ferencváros Municipality, awaits those who want to go ice skating again this year. And based on last season’s experiences, they even prepared a larger ice surface! They increased the ice surface by 200 square meters, which means that skaters can enjoy a total of 1,500 square meters. A ticket is valid for the whole day, and can be purchased online in advance, writes budapestkornyeke.hu. This cozy ice skating spot even has an ice corridor, making skating even more fun!

Westend Winter Wonderland
A magical winter wonderland awaits visitors at the Westend Roof Garden from 18 November to 30 December. In addition to the ice skating rink, guests are encouraged to try out the beloved winter drink, mulled wine. Moreover, a cozy carousel, food trucks and a heated Christmas tent guarantee the festive atmosphere. The fee for using the ice rink is HUF 1,500 (EUR 3,69)/person, which can be purchased in its entirety in nearly 220 shops of Westend that accept gift vouchers.
Csepel Ice Park
With three ice rinks, an exclusive ice corridor and special gastronomic experiences, the Csepel Ice Park awaits ice skaters. You can slide on the ice until 31 January, 2023. The entrance fee is HUF 2,000 (EUR 4,92) for non-Csepel residents, and a 40 percent discount for Csepel residents, reports Index. Located in the center of the capital’s 21st district, there is also a warming, washroom facility and a buffet, where visitors can try out Transylvanian trumpet cakes.

Újpest Ice Rink
On the first Sunday of Advent, 27 November, the open-air skating rink on Szent László Square in Kőbánya opened its doors again. This ice rink is special because it is totally free! Ice skaters can use the ice rink every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., until January 29, writes budapestkornyeke.hu. The Újpest Ice Rink is recommended for chilren as there will be a Christmas selfie spot where they can take a picture of themselves with Santa Claus’ sleigh.
