5 Wedding Details You Shouldn’t Forget
If you are in the process of planning a wedding, you will probably have just discovered just how chaotic it can be. Sure, you might have read stories or watched your favorite TV show depict it in a comical fashion, but nothing suitably prepares you for the mayhem that is turning a wedding dream into a reality.
Okay, so it’s not quite that bad if you are organized. Keeping check of things and everything that needs doing is one big step towards a successful wedding. Yet with so many things to consider and arrange, there are certain points that could go unnoticed if you’re not careful. With that said, here are five wedding details you shouldn’t forget.
Save the date
It’s one of the very first things that you should think about, but a save the date can often be overlooked – to the point where you’re rushing out invites just a few days out from your wedding, or simply inviting people via social media! To avoid this, write out and send your invites with plenty of time in advance. To make things even easier, you can even do this online for free with a design your own save the date program.
As a way of thanking guests for turning up to your wedding, it is customary to provide a welcome bag. After all, you will be unlikely to greet and spend proper time with your guests – especially upon their arrival – so a welcome bag is essentially the next best thing. If you forget the welcome bag, however, this could have a (somewhat) opposite effect of making your guests feel at home.
One of the best keepsakes you can have about your big day is a guest book. That is, if you remembered to take one along with you. It can be quite easy to overlook something as relatively small as a guest book, and by doing so would mean you miss out on your family and friends passing on heartfelt messages about you and your wedding.
If you have spent a small fortune on a super fancy cake, you will want to show it off properly. The best way of doing this is by having a dedicated cake table. As for this table, place it in such a way that it is the focal point of the room. That way, all of your guests will get a great vantage point for when the traditional cake cutting ceremony takes place, and they will also know when it’s time for them to grab a slice for themselves!
Entertainment for younger guests
It is fair to say that, if you have any young children attending the wedding, it will be difficult to keep them occupied all day with the regular day’s activities. Sadly, this could prove to be disruptive if they become bored and restless. To combat this potential issue, ensure you have plenty of fun-filled activities organized for your younger guests, so that they will stay entertained and not be disruptive.
