The winners of the 35th Hungarian Press Photo Contest – PHOTO GALLERY

The winners of the 35th Hungarian Press Photo Contest have been announced. 2284 works by 234 photographers competed for the prestigious awards, and altogether 6259 photos were submitted in single and series categories. An exhibition of the winning photos opens on March 27 in the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, origo.hu writes.

Grand Prices

  • Grand Prize of MÚOSZ (Association of Hungarian Journalists) – Attila Balázs: Class accepting students with Down syndrome
  • André Kertész Grand Prize – Máté Szekeres: Kidney disease

Special Prices

  • Escher Károly Special Prize for best news photograph – Szergej Markoszov (freelancer)
  • Márton Munkácsi Special Prize for best collection – Simon Móricz-Sabján (Népszabadság/Világgazdaság)
  • Best photojournalist working in the counties – Dénes Mártonfai (Tolnai Népújság)
  • Best photojournalist achievement under 30 –Zsófia Sivák
