Metallica is coming to Budapest!
More and more interesting concert news have been announced recently and now fans of Metallica were astonished, as it turned out that the legendary American heavy metal band returns to Hungary after eight years in 2018, writes 24.hu.
Mark your calendars already: Metallica is coming to Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on April 5, 2018. As announced on Thursday (March 16), one of the most popular bands of the world hits the stage in Hungary for the sixth time
Metallica fans had to wait eight years for this news and now their wish came true, the band includes Budapest in the European leg of their tour centred around their latest album, Hardwired…to Self-Destruct. The tour kicks off in Amsterdam on September 4 and 6 and won’t stop till they get to Helsinki on May 11.
Their first gig in Hungary was in the MTK Stadium in 1988, then Népstadion hosted the band in 1991 and in 1993, and MTK again in 1999. The last time, when Metallica played for a Hungarian audience of 40 thousand people, it was in the Puskás Ferenc Stadium in May 2010 celebrating their album, Death Magnetic.
Bear in mind also that accompanying every concert ticket you’ll receive a copy of Hardwired…to Self-Destruct as a gift and the format (digital, CD) will be up to your choice. It was released in last November by the band’s own label, Blackened Recordings, and immediately topped the charts, selling more than 800 thousand copies in the first week only.
In cooperation with the band, CID Entertainment offers three different VIP packages for the gigs, if you look for something more than just being part of a great crowd. These packages include premium tickets and special experiences or services, such as meet & greet opportunities. Besides, they’re bringing the Norwegian Kvelertak as warm up act for the whole European tour.
Make sure to check out the official website of Metallica and the Budapest Sportaréna for more information. Do not miss the fan club presale, which is scheduled for March 21 or the general sale that is on from March 24.
