Airport police stop Nigerian with 101 cocaine capsules in body
Budapest, October 10 (MTI) – Police at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc international airport arrested a Nigerian man who tried to smuggle 1.2kg of cocaine in the form of capsules secreted in his body.
Attila Suller, spokesman for the tax and customs office NAV, said the man had arrived in Budapest from Eindhoven. Officers searched his hand luggage and clothes and found nothing. But when he started behaving suspiciously during the search, he was taken to a hospital to undergo a CT scan.
The Nigerian national is the fourth person this year to have attempted to smuggle drugs concealed in his body.
The street value of the cocaine found on the Nigerian is estimated at 18 million forints (EUR 60,000).
