Chairperson of the National Assembly of Vietnam addresses Vietnam-Hungary seminar in Budapest
Budapest, April 11 (MTI) – Hungary’s speaker of parliament addressed on Tuesday a Hungary-Vietnam seminar in Parliament covering the legislative process, tax and labour rules to boost national competitiveness and economic growth, as well as regulations on research, development and innovation.
László Kövér said Hungary was glad to organise the first parliamentary seminar on the basis of a parliamentary agreement signed in 2008.
Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Chairperson of the National Assembly of Vietnam, told the seminar that Vietnam embarked on a process of reforms 30 years ago. She said the Vietnamese side hoped to learn from Hungary’s experiences in integrating into the European Union. The seminar is a new milestone in developing bilateral relations, she added.
Noting Hungary’s trade policy of opening to the east and south, Kövér said Vietnam is a key partner in implementing the policy. Vietnam plays an increasingly important role in the international political and economic developments in Asia and as a country with a fast-growing economy, he said, adding that Hungary and Vietnam looked back on 67 years of cordial ties which have led to diverse cooperation, he said.
