Heart-Shaped Bench on Margaret Island

For centuries, Styria and Hungary have been maintaining a close relationship. To commemorate this, a Styrian bench was given to Budapest, in connection with the fall of the Iron Curtain.

The heart-shaped bench is placed in the park in front of the Alfréd Hajós National Swimming Stadium on Margaret Island.

According to metropol.hu, Styria is the favourite Austrian state among Hungarian guests. In winter, 31% of the nights spent in Austria by Hungarian guests was spent in Styria, which means that the green heart of Austria is the clear market leader. In the 2013/2014 winter season, 74.259 Hungarians spent 305.154 nights in Styria.

The first official training of the Hungarian ski instructors took place in Murau, more than 30 years ago. As a result, close personal and economic relations have been formed in recent times. The Hungarian Ski Team has also been training in Murau for almost 30 years. The Hungarian Ski Championships is organized in St. Lambrecht every year. As part of the cooperation, the region of Murau regularly participates in Hungarian fairs, workshops and press conferences. After the 2003 World Championships in Kreischberg, Hungarian investors also appeared in the region.
