Hungarian winners of First Global Challenge Competition visited the White House
Budapest Fazekas Mihály Primary and Grammar School students won the first prize of First Global Challenge Competition held in Washington.
Daughter and Chief Advisor of the US President, Ivanka Trump posted a photo on her Facebook page about the visit.
“Great to welcome Teams USA, Afghanistan and FIRST Robotics Competition winners, Team Hungary, to the White House today! Congratulations on a job well done. We are proud of you!” she wrote.
The First Robotics Competition attended by students from 150 countries.
The theme of the competition was clean water and water management. The teams had to build and program a robot – from components provided by organizers of the event – that would remove dirt from drinking water.
Members of Team Hungary are: Márton Kurucz, Zsófia Molnár-Sáska, Mihály Fey, Zalán Martinák, Dávid Umann and Bence Hervay. The students were prepared for the competition by Zsuzsa Karsai and Balázs Koren.
