Hungarian Wizz Air becomes the largest low-cost airline in Israel

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe shared yesterday remarkable results achieved over the past five years of operations in the Israeli market. Its low fare network across the country has been massively expanding this year, offering now twice the number of connections to Europe, while strengthening its position in the market and becoming the largest low-cost carrier operating in Israel.

Wizz Air, as a pioneer of high quality and low-fare air travel in Israel market, has continuously invested in the country since 2012, always providing truly affordable travel opportunities for its customers. With more than 855,000 seats on sale in 2017 on 22 routes available from Tel Aviv and Eilat Ovda airports, Wizz Air became the 3 largest airline company in terms of allocated capacity from Israel to Central and Eastern Europe. As a result of WIZZ’s expansion plans, since the beginning of 2017 both inbound and outbound traffic through WIZZ connections to Europe has registered a 62% increase compared with the same period last year,

In 2018, with a 52% growth year-on-year, WIZZ’s operations in the country will continue to expand, as 1.3 million seats will be available across the Israeli network covering 22 routes to 17 destinations in 9 countries from Tel Aviv and Eilat.
