The biggest solar power plant of Hungary is to be built at the Mátra
HVG reports that the biggest solar power project of Hungary will start in spring at Mátra Power Plant. According to the plans, the solar power plant (an investment of 6,4 billion HUF) will be put into operation in October.
Béla Bárdos, the Head of Department at the Mátra Power Plant said that the new power plant will be built from 72 480 pieces. 50% of the project is private investment, complemented by a development tax credit.
According to Bárdos, Mátra Power Plant is the second biggest electricity producer of Hungary, having a 20% share of the domestic production. The power plant is supplied with raw materials by the mines of Visonta and Bükkábrány. In addition, 8% of biomass is also utilized, which is provided by Hungarian integrators and traders. He added that the power plant intends to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the production of electricity.
74% of the Mátra Power Plant is German-owned, and 26% is owned by the Hungarian MVM Groups. In 2013, the company employing 2100 people had a net income of 95,6 billion HUF, with a profit of 10,5 billion HUF.
