Budapest Spring Festival waiting for you with more than 170 programs

The Budapest Spring Festival, which will be organized between April 10 and 26, will open the region’s cultural events. More than 170 programs will be waiting for the visitors in 43 sites, for 17 days. In the focus of the year 2015, in addition to the photos of Academy Award-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, there will be Dante Alighieri, who was born 750 years ago and is an important figure of the Italian culture, and Ferenc Liszt, who was determinative for the universal music history, orientpress.hu said.

Budapest Spring Festival is the perfect example of the coordinated operation of the capital’s institutions and the government – Alexandra Szalay Bobrovniczky said. There are world premieres, national shows and co-production performances in dozens of locations, in the Palace of Arts, at the Hungarian State Opera House, the Balna, the A38, the Pest Vigado, Academy of Music and many other metropolitan theaters and museums.

“We have become the biggest multi-arts premium festival of the region” – Csaba Kael said at the press conference. The director of the Palace of Arts emphasized that the capital will be opened even in mid-April, the more than two-week event will introduce the other cultural events of the region. One of the focal points of the 35th Budapest Spring Festival will be the art of Ferenc Liszt: Janos Balazs, who was recently awarded with Ferenc Liszt Prize, will play Liszt transcriptions of Gyorgy Cziffra. He will also salute for the 750th anniversary of Dante Alighieri with the piece of Paolo Micciche, the DanteXperience, which combines the Divine Comedy and Liszt’s monumental Dante Symphony.
