Orbán: Results of national consultation to bolster Hungary’s position in EU – VIDEO
The 2.3 million responses to the government survey dubbed “national consultation” bolsters Hungary’s standpoint and improves its chances in the debate over migration in the European Union, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video message posted on his Facebook page on Thursday.
The video was recorded at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport as Orbán left for a summit of EU heads of state and government.
“Our position has improved a lot, because here in my rucksack I can take with me the opinions of the two million three hundred thousand Hungarians who have made it clear that they do not want a ‘Soros plan’ and do not support Brussels implementing it”, Orbán said in the video.
Hungary is the only country in Europe where politicians had the courage to ask people of their opinions on migration and immigration, he said.
The last “national consultation” survey, started in autumn, focused on the role of US financier George Soros’s role in EU immigration policy and other current issues.
