Budapest, April 4 (MTI) – At dawn on Saturday, a record cold temperature for this day in Hungary was broken as the mercury dipped to a chilly -7 C. in Nograd County, in northern Hungary, the national meteorological service said.
The last time the Spring air got so frosty was in 1970, when -6.6 C. was recorded in the northern village of Kekesteto.
The meteorological service said that low temperatures around -5 C. were likely throughout Easter in northern valleys. The country will start getting warmer from Tuesday, it added.
