Road haulage control system increases tax revenue by HUF 1.5 bn in March
Budapest, April 17 (MTI) – Inspections based on an electronic monitoring system for road haulage companies that aims to eliminate tax evaders have increased tax revenue by 1.5 billion forints (EUR 5m) in March, business daily Napi Gazdasag said on Friday, citing tax office (NAV) figures.
NAV inspected 7,502 shipments, seizing 283 because of irregularities. The seized cargo is estimated to be worth about 1 billion forints.
Another 500 million forints in revenue was collected from the inspected taxpayers fulfilling overdue tax obligations in cash in 1,303 cases, NAV said.
Starting from March, haulage companies are required to pay security risk fees to NAV on some risky products. A total of 2.13 billion forints was forwarded to the tax authority’s deposit account by April 7.
