Venezuelan drug mule apprehended at Budapest airport
Budapest, May 6 (MTI) – A woman from Venezuela has been apprehended at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc Airport for attempting to smuggle through cocaine with an estimated market value of 55 million forints (EUR 180,000) to Hungary, a spokesman of the Tax and Excise Office said on Wednesday.
Attila Gyurgy Suller said she had swallowed 30 capsules, including a total of 328.86 grammes of cocaine, which would be enough to make 470 fatal doses of the drug.
She had flown from Brazil through Zurich and wanted to enter through the green corridor. She was stopped for a detailed check, and the customs officers decided to CT scan her after she showed signs of anxiety, Suller said.
So far this year, nearly 20kg of drugs have been seized at Budapest airport, he added.
