Coming SOON: Budapest Summer Festival 2015
The 11th Budapest Summer Festival has prepared with rich and eventful programs for this summer; star performers and super productions will be held at Margaret Island and in the culture events’ history, it will be the first time that the Early Bird campaign is being introduced; however, this movement is well known in the hotel industry and in the airline industry.
The campaign has already started, the clock is ticking! According to programturizmus.hu, if you want the best deals for the performances in the country’s most beautiful summer theatres, it is advisable to ‘be an early bird’. The Budapest Summer Festival has started its promotion and lasts for 4 months which is well received at worldwide events. From February to June, till the opening of the festival, will last the campaign. This will offer great sales and gifts for the earliest persons.
It is advisable to follow the event (the webpage, the community page, and the newsletter) because the offers vary and the number of offers could increase or decrease, too: for example, in May, the audience can get 10% off from the best places.
The festival will open in 12th June in Margaret Island with the Liszt and Dante concert by the National Filharmonics and the conductor will be Zoltán Kocsis. The grand premier of Károly Goldmark’s opera, the Queen of Sheba, will be on 3rd and 5th of July. This is a co-production with the Hungarian State Opera House, directed by Csaba Káel. At the anniversary of Carl Off 120th birthday, on 10th July, the Catulli Carmina and the Carmina Burana ballet will be accompanied by the Szeged Contemporary Ballet and the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra special co-operation. Edith Piaf’s 100th birthday will be remembered on the Vive la France! Symphonic Soundtrack Concert – the concert’s star performer will be announced later by the organizers. Puccini Tosca’s opera will be held on 7th and 9th of August, traditionally with star singers: the main character will be sung by Béatrice Uria-Monzon French mezzo soprano singer; and Cavaradossi will be sung by Giancarlo Monsalve, the young tenor from Chile. In this year’s musical repertoire will be the Jesus Christ, Superstar ; the Honvéd Táncház will perform the Benyovszky ballet and a brand new night circus revue will be prepared which will reflect the French Moulin Rouge’s world. On 22nd August, the Gipsy Kings founder’s band, the Chico & The Gypsies will arrive.
The event’s motto is ‘Több mint szÃnház, élmény!’ (It’s more than theatre, it’s an experience!) which becoming more and more attended by the metropolitans and by the tourists. The summer theatres offer more than a hundred programs in different genres which are fulfilled by the additional programs and complex services which are organized by the event. Theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions, free family programs, children theatre, Jazzy Tower concerts, SzÃnházi Szemle, the water tower lookout,  theatrical cruise ships, regularly launched cruise ships, hotel deals and other numerous novelty waits for the audience from June till the end of August in the country’s richest cultural festival. This festival is unique and only available at the Budapest Summer Festival’s venues and offers a full experience to its audience. It is useful to plan to the family and to the friends the year’s most amazing experience: the summer in Budapest.
