Major wage increase at Fornetti, Hungary’s leading baking company
Fornetti employees to receive a significant – an average of 10-15% – wage increase from 1 May this year. This will be the fourth major wage increase at the company during the past two years, as a result of which it will spend over half a billion forints more on its employees on an annual basis. The pay rise will affect all of the group’s employees, that is, more than 850 individuals, according to the press release of Hungary’s largest baking company.
The company’s management has, since the new owner Aryzta AG came on board, been paying particular attention to increasing the wages of its employees. The most recent substantial – 10 percent – pay rise was announced by the company in 2016 . The company’s management also decided – at the beginning of both 2017 and 2018 – to increase the employees’ pays by more than the officially prescribed increases in the minimum wage and the guaranteed wage minimum, by spending the amounts saved as a result of the reduction in the employers’ contributions, on additional pay rises.
Consequently, the wages paid by the company increased by a gross amount of HUF 8,000 a month in 2017 across the board and by another HUF 10,000 a month in 2018.
“As one of the largest employers in Bács-Kiskun county we regard it to be our obligation to pay due attention to our employees. This is the fourth pay rise at our company during the last two years – this year we spend more than half a billion forints on the wage increase. This is one of the ways in which we wish to thank our staff, since we could never have achieved the development and growth accomplished during the recent years without their work” – said the management of the Fornetti Group.
The group is also providing its employees with fringe benefits, in an average amount of HUF 16,000 a month.
