Kover meets president, has talks in Azerbaijan
Baku (MTI) – Hungary’s House Speaker Laszlo Kover had talks with President Ilham Aliyev and senior officials of Azerbaijan, the press chief of the Hungarian Parliament told MTI on Wednesday.
During their talks in Baku, Kover and Aliyev agreed that bilateral relations were dynamic, supported by a strategic agreement and other bilateral deals signed during the Azeri president’s visit to Budapest last November, Zoltan Szilagyi said.
Azerbaijan is one of Hungary’s most important partners in the Caucasus, Kover said at the talks, noting that country’s role in Hungary’s energy security. “Azerbaijan is a bridge between Europe and Asia, that is why the dynamic development in our interstate relations is especially important,” Kover said.
Aliyev said that his country was ready to further develop ties with Hungary in all areas. He spoke highly of the Hungary-Azerbaijan joint committee, and the cooperation between parliaments of the two countries.
During the day, Kover met Prime Minister Artur Rasidze, Ogtay Asadov, his Azerbaijani counterpart, and representatives of the Azeri-Hungarian Friendship Chapter.
