Jellyfish found in Hungarian lake – video
You can rarely find a freshwater jellyfish (Craspedacusta sowerbyi) in Hungary, especially in peat mosses. In comparison, a fisherman has found such a thing now, in one of the peat mosses of Sukosd, in the near of Nemesnadudvar, Bacs-Kiskun County. The jellyfish lives in a total of ten hectare-water system of four lakes, 444.hu reported.
The freshwater jellyfishes, which are from Southeast Asia, have been seen only in mine lakes so far. However, they have cnidocytes filled with poison, they kill protozoa with that, they are not dangerous for humans.
444.hu has also wrote that another freshwater jellyfish had been found in a fishing pond in Vamosmikola.
