List: Hungary’s top 10 B&Bs and Inns

Bed&Breakfasts were invented for people who wanted to feel home away from home. Sometimes we do not desire fancy wellness hotels; we just want a quiet and cosy place to go home to after a long day of exploring a new city. Here are Hungary’s top 10 Bed and Breakfasts and Inns based on TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards 2018.

1. Kapital Inn

Kapital Inn has been rated No. 1 Bed and Breakfast in Budapest 10 years in a row. The inn is located on the penthouse floor of an elegant 19th-century building in district 6. The top two floors of the apartment building have been converted into a comfortable bed and breakfast equipped with all modern amenities. The best features of the inn are its great location and its amazing 600 square foot private terrace.

2. Parliament Penthouse Budapest B&B

Parliament Penthouse was established and is run by two good friends. They aim to accommodate travellers who prefer a local relaxed atmosphere to that of big hotels. They offer a breath-taking panorama over the Danube, friendly service and hospitality, high-quality and a superb location, within walking distance from the main tourist attractions of the capital.

3. Brody House

BrodyLand currently has four hospitality venues in Budapest, each venue having its own “distinct flavour”. They offer unique boutique accommodation. The first hotel called Brody House was listed in The Sunday Times ‘100 Best Hotels’ and won Mr and Mrs Smith’s ‘Best Budget Boutique Hotel in 2013.

4. Anabelle B&B

Anabelle Bed and Breakfast Budapest is located in the centre of Budapest next to the Hungarian Parliament, only 3 minutes from the river Danube. The building (1. Garibaldi street, District 5) was built in 1908 in the Art Nouveau style, and it has been renovated in 2014. The building retains its original elegant character, while the B&B offers all the modern first-class amenities and services.

5. House Beletage

House Beletage is a cosy and petite Bed & Breakfast hotel in the heart of Budapest. The cosy rooms are unique and individually designed, and all have a private bathroom with shower and air conditioning. A continental breakfast is set out every morning. They also have a quiet small terrace.

6. Butterfly Home B&B

Located on the edge of downtown Pest, just off historic Andrássy Avenue, quite close to Heroes Square, the City Park or the Széchenyi Baths. According to their website: “This is the perfect location for the budget-minded traveller who still wishes for the luxury of not having to trudge home too far from the mainstream of events at the end of each day. Oh, and parking is cheap!”

7. Budavár Bed and Breakfast

Budavár Bed and Breakfast resides in the heart of Budapest in the historic Castle District at an exclusive, quiet location which is still central but away from downtown traffic. The Bed & Breakfast has bright, clean and cosy rooms equipped with air-conditioning, room safe and free wireless internet access.

8. Shiraz Wellness and Tréning Hotel

The Shiraz Hotel is the first one on our list which is not located in Budapest. It can be found in Egerszalók. They offer everything (and more) that hotels usually do: wellness, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and many other services. They also have a “one night stand” offer for guests staying for a quick visit only.

9. Káli Art Inn

Káli Inn is the second on the list which is not located in Budapest. It is actually situated in Köveskál, near Lake Balaton. The Káli Art Inn, situated in the natural reserve of the Kál basin near Lake Balaton, promises to pamper you with comfort, excellent wines and the surrounding countryside. They also pride themselves in their gastronomic delights:

10. Budapest Guestrooms

The Budapest GuestRooms Bed & Breakfast is located in a quiet street in Pest. All the well-known sights, undergrounds, buses or trams all are only a few minutes away. The rooms are bright and clean, spacious, safe, have air-conditioning, a kettle, a fridge, a private bathroom, and free WIFI.
