Budapest is among the friendliest cities

Kept its good reputation and even improved its last year’s ranking Budapest on the friendliness list of Conde Nast traveler magazine, which was made on the basis of readers’ votes and travelogues, euronews.com said.

In 2014, the Hungarian capital was 10th in tie with the Austrian Salzburg. This year, Budapest not only remained on the American magazine’s list, but it was considered friendlier, became 8th. Besides Budapest, Auckland in New Zealand, Dublin in Ireland and Sydney of Australia were the readers’ favorites last year and now. So much that the Australian metropolis became the first in 2015. From our region, another city has been among the most popular ones: the Polish Krakow.

Those who praised Budapest said about it: “it is a beautiful city whose history burst into smile and tears”. It is also in its favor that it is “inhabited by friendly people who want to show everyone everything” and they “have a wonderful sense of humor, despite the fact they had lots of difficult times in history”.

Among those who praised, there was whose greatest experience was bathing; others noticed that there was music everywhere, not just in forms of concerts but also on the streets, in cafes as well. They also wrote hints, practical ones like “live in Pest and explore Buda”, but they praised specific locations too: Szabo Marczipan Museum was recommended for people with children.
