The richest Hungarian billionaires in 2019 and how their fortune increased over the years

Change language:
The list of the 100 richest Hungarians comes out each year since 2002. It is only May, but this year’s list is already quite different from last year’s. One thing is for sure: the rich are getting richer by the year, especially if they have the right kind of friends.
Hvg looked at how today’s list of the “100 richest Hungarians” differs from the previous ones, and how the fortune of the “old timers” who have been on the list for a while changed over the years. Hvg was particularly interested in how certain politicians’ fortune evolved ever since Fidesz has been the ruling party and formed the infamous NER.
Daily News Hungary reported last year’s list in December.
The list is quite different in 2019. According to the freshest statistics, Lőrinc Mészáros was overtaken by Sándor Csányi, who was at the top of the list in 2017, before he was overtaken by Mészáros in 2018.
Orbán’s closest friend silently admitted being one of the richest people in Hungary
