VOLT Festival 2019 was a huge success at the new venue!

The 27th Telekom VOLT Festival ended at dawn on Sunday. One of Hungary’s largest tourist events of the past year was visited by 143,000 people in Sopron.

“Based on feedback from the audience and our performers, the debut of the new location was successful. The first day proved that the area can comfortably cater up to 40,000 guests. This year’s experience showed that further development is necessary, but it is a great pleasure for us that the new area of VOLT, which is larger, more comfortable and much safer than before, did well this first year. The new venue also guarantees that we’ll be able to plan events here in Sopron for at least the next 10 years ” – said Norbert Lobenwein, Founder of the festival.

Visitors were most interested in the rock bands on the first day. All of the headliners, Slipknot, Slash, Black Eyed Peas, and Parov Stelar were a great success, but tens of thousands also gathered to see Halott Pénz, who were celebrating their 15th anniversary.

Another sculpture chair was added to the project “Sopron – The City of Stars”. This year, Slipknot and Halott Pénz received a piece of art from Anna Németh, Chief Executive Officer of the Hungarian Tourism Agency, which will be set up in downtown Sopron in the coming months.

Sopron and its surroundings filled up for four days.
