Orbán among the most valued politicians?
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made it onto the list of foreign politicians and public figures whose work is valued the most by the Czech public opinion. He finished high on the list of eleven people.
Origo reported the results of the survey conducted by the STEM Institute in Prague, which published their findings on Thursday. The national survey collected data in June, revealing that the Czechs value Slovakian head of state Zuzana Caputová the most out of any foreign politician or public figure. This refers to both the actions and personality of the Slovakian leader who took office only mind-June.
Caputová is followed by Pope Francis and Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán, placing him in the top three of the list.
The survey showed that 71% of the respondents viewed the work and personality of Caputová in a positive light, 63% had positive feelings about Pope Francis, while 48% regarded Orbán as a positive figure.
Interestingly, the STEM Institute’s similar survey from three years ago featured Viktor Orbán in sixth place.
The next three places are occupied by British ex-Prime Minister Theresa May (who was still in office at the time the survey was completed), French President Emmanuel Macron, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. May got a positive rating by 47%, Macron had the support of 40%, while Putin was seen as a positive figure by 36%.
At the end of the list, former Polish head of state Jaroslaw Kaczynski (35%), German Chancellor Angela Merkel (25%), US President Donald Trump (24%), former President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker (24%), and Chinese President Xi Jinping (18%) are featured.
