Hungary, Ghana official discuss economic cooperation
Budapest, November 3 (MTI) – Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto on Tuesday met Benjamin Dagadu, Ghana’s deputy minister of energy and petroleum, to discuss areas for economic cooperation between the two countries, the foreign ministry told MTI.
Szijjarto told Dagadu that in order to prevent mass migration from Africa, Europe should invest heavily in the continent to establish centres of growth, one of which, the minister said, could be Ghana.
The ministry quoted Dagadu as saying that Ghana sees energy, water management and waste management as areas for cooperation with Hungary.
The two agreed that Hungary would raise the number of scholarships offered to students from Ghana to 50 starting next September.
The statement noted that Hungary will open an embassy in Accra next year.
