Hungary, Morocco conclude economic cooperation agreements
Budapest, December 11 (MTI) – Hungary and Morocco signed four agreements for boosting economic cooperation following a session of the two countries’ mixed economic committee in Budapest on Friday.
The agreements cover the areas of metal and machinery, innovation and research in agriculture, and trade.
The possibility of launching a Budapest-Rabat direct flight was also discussed, Levente Magyar, the foreign ministry’s state secretary, told a press conference after the meeting.
Mohamed Abbou, minister delegate in charge of Morocco’s foreign trade, noted long-standing bilateral cooperation in culture and science and agreements concluded already in public transport projects, investment protection and the elimination of double taxation.
Hungary’s exports to Morocco totalled 40 billion forints (EUR 125m) in 2014, up from 33 billion in the preceding year, data by the Central Statistical Office show.
Imports from that country amounted to 3.2 billion forints last year, compared to 2.02 billion in 2013.
