National Judicial Council backs Senyei for OBH chief
The National Judicial Council (OBT) supports the election of György Barna Senyei as the next head of the National Office of the Judiciary (OBH), OBT spokesman Viktor Vadász said on Wednesday.
The council made its decision after Senyei’s hearing before the body on Wednesday, Vadasz told a press conference.
At the hearing,
Senyei assured the council of his intention to put relations between the OBH and the OBT on a new footing and that he would strive for cooperation,
Vadász said. Senyei plans to attend the council’s meetings and wants to establish “peace and order” in Hungary‘s judicial system, he added.
On Monday, President János Áder nominated Senyei to succeed Tünde Handó as head of the OBH. He currently serves as chairman of the civic economic council of the Budapest Court of Appeals.
