According to the accommodation price comparison portal Trivago.hu, Budapest is among the most popular New Year’s Eve destinations of Europe, and soon there will be no available room left for the last night of 2015 – Trivago.hu told MTI on Thursday, mno.hu wrote.
Budapest is the 16th on the list of the most popular New Year’s Eve destinations. The first is London, but the hotels of Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Prague also host a lot of people wanting to party on December 31. On the top list of the Russians and the Slovenes, the Hungarian capital is the 3rd, but Budapest is also included among the 10 most popular destinations of the Czechs, Greeks, Croats and Slovaks. In addition to the capital, the foreign arrivals search the hotels of Heviz and Hajduszoboszlo the most.
Hungarian spa resorts are popular among domestic travelers as well. The list of the most popular tourist destinations of the Hungarians does not differ much from the rest. Most of them are looking for Budapest accommodations for the last party of 2015, but many people say goodbye to the old year in Hajduszoboszlo, Heviz and Sarvar, mno.hu wrote.
The highest prices in Heviz
The visitors of Trivago searched accommodation for the lowest price in Pecs, for an average price of HUF 17 thousand (2 persons/night). Average prices are the highest in Heviz, a double room costs HUF 40 thousand for New Year’s Eve. While the most searches for New Year’s Eve were done in the first week of December, there was no real increase in the number of people to the ones who began to search in mid-November.
Those who want to travel, but have not booked accommodation yet, should quickly decide, since it is very hard to find a free room in the major cities already. According to Trivago.hu, the occupancy rate is about 90% in the capital and in Siofok, above 95% in Hajduszoboszlo – which is the most popular spa resort in 2015 – and there are only a few rooms to rent in Eger. Among the popular destinations, a little more than 10% of the rooms are available in Heviz and Pecs, but you should try in Gyor as well, where occupancy rate is around 70%.
