Households to save EUR 31.7m through reduced admin fees in 2016, says official
Budapest, January 4 (MTI) – A government programme aimed at reducing administrative fees will help residents save 10 billion forints (EUR 31.7m) this year, Nandor Csepreghy, state secretary at the prime minister’s office, told a press conference in parliament on Monday.
As part of the programme, people will not be charged for new identity cards or residence certificates and other personal documents, nor will applicants in higher education pay a fee, Csepreghy said.
Concerning administration in the construction sector, people will not need to take out a permit for new structures with a floor area of 300sqm or smaller, he said.
Companies will no longer be charged when applying for certificates from the tax authority, and the administration of new businesses will also be free of charge.
Csepreghy said that the government was in a position to cut down on administrative fees because “Hungary’s reforms have been efficient and helped contribute to an accumulation of reserves, which has created an opportunity to reduce red tape”.
