Defence minister calls for 5-party talks on security issues
Budapest, January 5 (MTI) – Defence Minister Istvan Simicsko has called a meeting of the five parliamentary parties next Tuesday to review issues around legislation concerning security in the country as well as Hungary’s corps of reserve officers.
In a statement, the defence ministry said that the meeting would focus on regulations governing the military to “establish if those rules allow sufficient room to meet increased security challenges”.
In a recent interview, Simicsko suggested introducing “regulations empowering soldiers to manage a terrorist situation in peace times”.
