PM Orbán’s daughter among the most influential Hungarian women! – here is the list
Forbes assembled the list of the most influential Hungarian women in 2020. According to their results, they are on the top in the different categories.
The world’s most influential woman is still Angela Merkel followed by Christine Lagarde, Nancy Pelosi, Ursula von der Leyen and Melinda Gates – forbes.hu reported. Forbes says that, compared to those mentioned above,
the influence of the Hungarian women from the top is very limited.
According to forbes.hu, some women disappeared from their list this year. For example, in 2019, Ágnes Havas, former director of the Hungarian National Film Fund (Magyar Nemzeti Filmalap), was the most influential woman in the culture. But after the death of Andy Vajna, she could not preserve her position so now she is not on the list.

In the business sector
Éva Hegedüs, the majority owner of the Gránit Bank, can be found in the first place of the list.
The bank grows quicker than its competitors. She is followed by Ilona Dávid, chairwoman of the Volánbusz Zrt. operating most of the international and domestic buses from Budapest, and also the regional lines and the ones traversing the agglomeration. The third one is Gabriella Heiszler on the list who is managing director of the Spar in Hungary.
There are new names, as well, on the list. Andrea Solti became the new chairwoman of the Shell Hungary Zrt. and she is also a member of the directors’ board in the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF).
Beatrix Mészáros, daughter of Lőrinc Mészáros, the richest Hungarian, is in the seventh position.
She is the leader of the Mészáros family’s flagship, the Opus Global Nyrt, which is currently the 6th most significant enterprise on the Budapest stock market.
Interestingly, there are only a few women in the leadership of the companies operating in Hungary. In the case of MOL, Mercedes, or OTP, there are none of them while Audi has only one in its directorate. In the case of the MVM group, the rate of the women in the leadership is almost 25 pc.
On the list containing the most influential women in Hungary’s public life,
Katalin Novák, secretary of the Ministry of Human Capacities, in on the top.
She is the campaign face of the government’s family aid programmes and negotiates with the European People’s Party (EPP), as well. Ráhel Orbán, the daughter of the PM, is the second on the list while his wife is only in the 6th position. Judit Varga, minister for justice, is in the third position while seventh is MEP Klára Dobrev, wife of Ferenc Gyurcsány.
In the culture sector, Beáta Kolosi leads the list who is the chairwoman of the Líra Könyv Zrt. the second-biggest publishing company in Hungary. In the case of the media, Gabriella Vidus is the most influential woman who is managing director of the RTL Hungary group.
Method
The Hungarian Forbes assembled the list for the sixth time in 2020, and the most important factor how a person was put on or moved from the list was how big the fireworks are around her. Furthermore, it was also remarkable how good her relationships are with other leaders. Moreover, they conducted many background talks and finally, it was also notable how she stands out for important social issues.
